Privacy Policy

            Maths Mastery is a free educational maths practice site. Practising maths works fully without an account. Viewing and competing on leaderboards requires signing in with a @plc.nsw.edu.au Google account.
        

1. Overview

This privacy policy explains what information Maths Mastery (mathsmastery.mrdingmaths.com) collects, how it is used, and your choices. The site is intended for secondary school students aged 13 and above.

2. Information We Collect

If you do not sign in, no personal information is collected or transmitted. Your game progress, best times, and preferences are saved only in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. Leaderboards are not visible to signed-out users.

Sign-in is restricted to Google accounts with a @plc.nsw.edu.au email address. If you sign in, the following information is collected and stored on our servers (via Supabase):

Display name — your name as provided by Google.
Profile picture URL — your Google account avatar.
Best times and ratings — your personal best time and skill rating for each level you complete after signing in

Your Google email address is received during sign-in but is not stored in our database.

Local storage (all users) — your browser stores the following data locally on your device only:

Best times and mastery progress for each level
Session history and drill attempts
Dark mode preference

This local data is never transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your first name, last initial, and avatar are shown to other signed-in users on leaderboards so other users can see who holds top times. Only signed-in users can view the leaderboard
Your best times are used to rank players in the top-10 leaderboard for each level
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than running the leaderboard

4. Third-Party Services

The site uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

These services may log your IP address when your browser downloads assets from them. We have no control over this logging.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

This site does not use cookies. All client-side data is stored in your browser's local storage, which is never sent to any server automatically. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

6. Your Choices

Don't sign in — maths practice works without an account. No personal data is collected, but leaderboards will not be visible.
Sign out — use the account button in the top navigation bar. After signing out, no further data is submitted and leaderboards become hidden.
Request deletion — to have your leaderboard entries and profile removed from our servers, contact us at the address below.
Clear local data — clear your browser's site data for mathsmastery.mrdingmaths.com to remove all locally stored progress.

7. Data Security

Leaderboard data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with row-level security policies that prevent any user from reading or modifying another user's account data. Only your leaderboard entries (name, best time, rating) are publicly readable.
